This event will explore potential relationships between art, business and other partners in the widest sense and what different sectors can offer to each other in more regular and deeper partnerships. There will be input from artists and business leaders and an opportunity for discussion, as well as workshops exploring strategies and ideas building constructive relationships between the arts and the other sectors.
Speakers include:
Julian Wild is a Consultant with Hull & York law firm Rollits. Julian is a director of several companies in business, arts and charity. He chairs Hull Truck Theatre’s trading subsidiary and is General Secretary of the Philip Larkin Society and was also chair of Quay Art.
Andrew Knight works with the public and private sectors as a consultant. He has extensive experience of contemporary art and design practice, policy development and implementation, capital funding and project management. In collaboration with Hazel Colquhoun he co-curated and produced the ‘Look Up’ programme of art commissions in the public realm for Hull 2017 and has worked closely with companies in the Humber region.
Paria Farzaneh is an English-born Iranian fashion designer. She is one of the UK’s most diverse talents, with her fashion shows consistently moving the needle when it comes to creativity. She has segmented herself as a designer unlike many others, capable of blending heritage, sportswear, and cultural impact into one presentation.
Josh Williams is Customer Advisor for G.F. Smith Paper. He regularly works with creatives and brands to find the best products for their requirements. In 2016 he held the first Hull Print Fair, an annual celebration of all things print, showcasing the best in design, art, and illustration from Hull and beyond, connecting talent of the North through events and workshops.
