Painting (daytime)

ABOUT THE COURSE

This 8 week painting course gives you the opportunity to play, experiment and find your own interests and direction. Experimenting with gesture, scale and surface, you will develop your own painting vocabulary and language. The tutors, who are both practicing artists, will introduce you to painting with acrylics and inks, composition, experimentation, decision making, problem solving, layering, and the ‘happy accident’. Nothing you can do on this course can ever be ‘wrong’ and having fun exploring the possibilities of paint is the focus of what we will do. During the course we will look at landscape as a reference point for the work we make and this could be urban or rural. There will be a half-term break after week 4.

This course is open to adults 18+ regardless of experience. Materials are provided, but please feel free to bring any materials of your own if you want to. Please wear clothes you are happy to get paint on!

We are a not-for-profit organisation and have to ensure that our course costs are covered. On the rare occasion that we don’t recruit enough participants and have to cancel a course, we will inform you before the start of the course and refund your fee.
