ABOUT THE COURSE

PLEASE NOTE: ALTHOUGH THE COURSE HAS A START DATE THERE IS NO FIXED DAY FOR COURSE ACTIVITY. YOU CAN WORK YOUR WAY THROUGH THE MODULES AT YOUR CONVENIENCE.

This online Textiles course provides a grounding in a range of textile processes including mark-making/block-printing, shibori dye, bead-making and weave. Students will be encouraged to develop a range of textiles samples. The course gives online participants the opportunity to delve into the fundamental aspects of all textiles- motif, pattern, repeat, texture and composition. The tasks can be achieved from a beginner’s level, and each one provides space for personal development. The tutor will contact you before the course to give you information about the course and the materials required.

You will have 3 months in which to complete the course, so that you are able to work at your own pace. Access to the course material will be available section by section. You will notify your tutor when you are ready to start a new section. When you have completed all sections, you will have the opportunity of a one-hour session with your tutor, to discuss the work you have produced and any issues you encountered during the course.

This course is open to adults 18+ regardless of experience. This is a rolling programme so you can start it whenever you want.
